Tropical Depression Nine Forms, Leads on an Early Path toward Florida as a Hurricane

The path that a tropical depression has formed in the Caribbean may still change, Florida was in the forecast cone Friday morning.

Tropical Depression Nine formed in the southeastern Caribbean Friday night and is on course to threaten Florida next week as a hurricane.

As of 5 a.m. Friday, the system had maximum sustained winds of 35 mph

With high speed it was located about 600 miles east-southeast of - and Jamaica

According to the National Hurricane Center, it is moving to the west-northwest at 13 mph.

Megan Borowski of the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network said it was too early to determine the storm's long-term track.

It is too early to tell what will happen after the weekend and its outlook for the South Bay.
